Donnie's Early Life

Donnie was born in 1964 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was a bright and active child, but he struggled with reading and writing. He would often mix up letters and words, and he had difficulty spelling.

Donnie made his Major League debut in 1988, and he quickly became one of the best pitchers in the league. He was a four-time All-Star, and he won the Cy Young Award in 1995.

Donnie retired from baseball in 2001, but he continues to be involved in the game. He is a coach for the Toronto Blue Jays, and he is also a spokesperson for the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada.
